Last Thursday, Pottstown Borough's Independence Day festival was jam packed with events to celebrate the holiday. Starting off the day's events was the parade down High Street that showcased different floats, clubs and marching bands, as well as Pottstown Mayor Stephanie Henrick, Borough Council President Dan Weand, Borough Council Vice President Don Lebedynsky and the parade's grand marshal Ron Williams, a longtime activist and former Pottstown School Board member.
After the parade, Pottstown’s GoFourth Street Fest took place which included street
vendors and fun activities to like an axe throwing cart, face painting, and live music. The evening's fireworks display at Memorial Park ended the festivities, despite the quick rain shower. While waiting for the fireworks, there were games to play, music and refreshments.
