New improvements were recently completed at Chestnut Street Park, located at the
corner of Chestnut Street and Washington Street in the Borough of Pottstown. The new facilities were
funded by a total of $299,130 in grants, including $59,830 from the Department of Community and Economic Development’s Greenways, Trails, and Recreation Program, and $239,300 from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ ARPA funding. The park was closed over the summer while construction took place, and recently reopened for fall play.
The upgrades have transformed Chestnut Street Park into a more accessible, family-friendly, and sustainable space. Improvements include replacing mulch with a durable rubber surface, making play areas safer and easier to maintain, providing new playground equipment, and adding a new ADA accessible asphalt pathway around the park for walking or riding your trike.
We invite everyone to explore the improved park space and experience the benefits of these new amenities firsthand.
